About Us

As a child, the only toys I was ever interested in were stuffed animals. I think it's because they were more than "toys" to me. They always felt like soft, quiet little friends with whom I could share my joys, dreams, and sorrows. Now, my 2 year old daughter is just like little me. 

When we started going thrifting together, we'd see forgotten plushies in unkempt aisles, shoved under shelves in dusty corners. My daughter always wants to pull all of them out, into the light. One day she said "mama, I rescued him!". That's when the idea for this little project popped into my mind. 

So we started picking one plushie to "rescue" on every trip to the thrift store. Sometimes we find big bags full of dozens for a few dollars. As I started to mention our little mission to friends and family, the donations started pouring in. So many people were so grateful that the stuffed animals formerly beloved by their children would have a chance to go to a new home! 

Our hope is to rescue countless stuffed animals, giving them new life while also keeping them out of landfills. Right now we are only able to rescue locally, but hope to be able to expand to be able to accept mail-in donations at some point as well. We are thrilled about the interest in our little project so far, and can't wait to see where it all takes us!
